NEW JERSEY GOV. PHIL Murphy on Tuesday introduced his state's first loss of life from the coronavirus, bringing the country wide demise toll to 27.

It marks the first country in the northeastern U.S. to document a coronavirus death.

The deceased used to be a 69-year-old man from Bergen County with underlying fitness complications. Officials stated he had a records of touring again and forth to New York.

He was once admitted to a health center on March 5 and suffered a cardiac arrest Tuesday morning, in accordance to country officials.

"We are unhappy to document the first demise in a case of COVID-19 in New Jersey," Murphy stated in a joint assertion with Lt. Gov. Sheila Oliver. "Our prayers are with the household at some point of this hard time. We continue to be vigilant to doing all we can – throughout all tiers of authorities – to shield the human beings of New Jersey."

Murphy on Monday declared a nation of emergency. The kingdom has 15 instances of coronavirus, inclusive of presumptive positives that have no longer but been tested by using the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
