28.2 MDP destined for tourism in Guanajuato


IRAPUATO, Gto.- (OEM - Informex) .- Juan José Álvarez Brunel, Secretary of Tourism of Guanajuato, reported that 28.2 million pesos have been earmarked for state tourism companies in order to continue promoting the sector that generates more than 200 1,000 direct jobs to mitigate negative effects caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.

The state official pointed out that the tourism sector contributes 8.3% of the entity's Gross Domestic Product, so it was determined to allocate that resource to tourism and stressed that through the Guanajuato Economic Impulse Program 19 municipalities benefited.

"Since I came to the Ministry of Tourism, my priority was to support tourism service providers, because we know that this sector contributes 8.3% of state GDP and has generated more than 200,000 direct jobs."

Álvarez Brunel stated that the 28.2 million pesos were granted to tourism companies and said that the requests they have received are from companies such as hotels, restaurants, tour operators, transporters and travel agencies, mainly from companies in Irapuato, San Miguel de Allende, Dolores Hidalgo, Guanajuato, León and Celaya.
