Deaths from Covid-19 in the world exceed 600 thousand





Washington.- Deaths from Covid-19 worldwide exceeded 600,000 this Sunday, while infections of the new coronavirus exceeded 14.3 million, according to the latest data from Johns Hopkins University.

At 9:00 on Sunday (13:00 GMT), the balance of deaths compiled by that Baltimore-based university was 602,777, and that of cases worldwide, 14,331,657.

The recovered patients worldwide have exceeded 8 million, and specifically, there are 8 thousand 045,982, according to the interactive map that regularly updates that educational center.

The country with the most infections and deaths from Covid-19 continues to be the United States, with more than 3.7 million cases and more than 140,000 deaths from causes related to the new coronavirus.

In second place is Brazil, with more than 2 million cases and 78,772 deaths; while the third in terms of infections is India, with more than a million infections and 26,816 deaths.

Regarding the number of deaths, the third country with the most deaths -after the US and Brazil- is the United Kingdom (45 thousand 358), followed by Mexico (38 thousand 888), Italy (35 thousand 045), France (30 thousand 155) and Spain (28 thousand 420).
