They fine in Cancun and Tulum for not using mouthguards



CANCUN. Fines of up to nine thousand pesos may be applied to citizens who violate health prevention measures during the current pandemic caused by Covid-19 in Cancun, when the Council of Benito Juárez approved a reform in the matter.

The proposal was entered by the municipal president, Mara Lezama, to add this sanction to the Good Government Party to propose a fine of 10 to 50 days of minimum wage for “not obeying the commandments and recommendations of the competent health authorities in cases of epidemics. , pandemics or those derived from natural disasters ”.

In other municipalities of the state they have made adjustments similar to the one presented in Benito Juárez, such as Othón P. Blanco and Tulum, where they announced sanctions of up to nine thousand pesos or 36 hours of arrest for all those who do not properly use the mouth mask in public spaces .

Governor Carlos Joaquín González had already declared last week that there would be sanctions for those who incur civil disobedience on preventive measures, such as wearing a mask.
