1 inmates found the escaped from Merced ca Jail, one captured in Firebaugh



MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KFSN) - Authorities have captured one of the six prisoners who got away from the Merced County prison on Saturday night. 

Edgar Eduardo Ventura was trapped in the Firebaugh zone and arrested. 

Ventura, who is from Portland, Oregon, was dealing with indictments of crime possessing a gun when he got away. Sheriff Vern Warnke said at a public interview on Tuesday evening that he will deal with more indictments because of the getaway.

Officers say the six men used a makeshift rope comprised of sheets to escape from the constructing. Due to certain protocols that limit interrupting an inmate's sleep, government failed to note the men have been long gone till the morning headcount nearly 8 hours later.

The Merced County Sheriff's office is operating with numerous neighborhood, state, and federal regulation enforcement organizations, including the usa Marshalls services, and the California branch of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) special offerings Unit, to tune down the six inmates.

A tip line has been set up by using the united states Marshalls provider and a reward of as much as $five,000 in line with escapee is being offered for any records leading to their arrest.
